My Unforgettable Trip to Ladakh:
For my next journey, I decided to explore and travel Ladakh, often called the Land of High Passes. and also called a 'Roof of the world'. It is popular places of travellers around the world. I finally got the opportunity to explore its majestic landscapes. The mountainous picturesque to the serene monasteries, every moment I spent there was so fulfilling and loving. Let's get to know more about my Unforgettable travel experience to Ladakh.
Ways To Getting Ladakh:
The first step of my journey started with flying to leh. I landed at the Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, this airport is one of the highest airport in the world. When I stepped, the view of the Himalayas was stunning, setting the tone for the entire journey. Arriving in Leh, that means I could start my adventure trip without a long tiring road journey.
But I opted to travel by The Manali Leh Highway on my return journey, for a more exploring the beautiful view and way. During my journey to cover 490 km, I got the authentic views of the valleys, snow covered mountains and the ideal spots like Rohtang and Baralacha La Pass. Getting to Manali by road was the best part of my trip.
My Ladakh Experience: Key Highlights
Exploring Leh:
After visiting the Ladakh , I got to know and to explore more about some more of its ideal places. I visit the Leh Palace that gave me an glimpse into Ladakh's History. The Shanti stupa gave me an spiritual and admire me the royal views of the surrounding valleys. After that I started exploring the Leh Market, in which I explored the vibrant and the local culture of the Leh, I discover some traditional cuisines like Thukpa and the taste of momos.
Magnetic Hill and Sangam Point:
During my way to Alchi, I tried to visit the Magnetic Hill, it was an ideal optical illusion where vehicle appeared to defy gravity that got me eyes on it. On a short walk, I founded Sangam Point, it was so royal to see as the Indus and Zanskar River meet there. The mesmerizing contrast of colours got me dynamic views. My experience to the Magnetic Hill and the Sangam Point was so so so amazing . as I got so fulfilled by the Natural views of it.
Pangong Lake:
After exploring Leh Market and the magnetic hill, I get to my next highlight that was Pangong Lake. I got melted by its crystal clear blue waters and the beauty of the local mountains. I spent my night there in tents nearby, which was an amazing experience for me, the silent voice of the Lake and the peaceful nature of surroundings gave me the true vibes.
Nubra Valley and Diskit Monastery:
After exploring some places, I decided to travel via Khardung La Pass, it is world's highest motorable road. I traveled by this pass to reach the Nubra Valley. The Valley was an Oasis of sand dunes and was surrounded by stark mountains. After it nearby I explored the Diskit Monastery, an home to a Buddha statue that got my eyes on it and the breathtaking views of it.
Hanle – The Stargazer’s Paradise:
Next I visited the Stargazer's paradise lie in the changthang region. Hanle, it is an quiet village, when I visited the village I could feel the clear sky and its mesmerizing stargazing experience. It is also an home to the world's highest observatory that offered me an unparalleled night view of stars. I spent an night under the sky and was an surreal experience. The entire experience and view was majestically awesome and I got an place far away from the pollution.
Lamayuru – The Moonland of Ladakh
Again I visited an Village, Lamayuru village, known as the Moonland of Ladakh. While exploring it I could found the unusual rock formations that gave me the impressions of walking of the moon. I could see the surreal sunset over the moonscape. This village was same as the village hanle, but it was quiet more decent and perfect to spend some time.
Turtuk : Famous For balti Dishes:
Another village was the Turtuk remote village, perfect for its distinct Balti Culture and scenic beauty. When I explored it, I could truly feel the essence of apricot trees and the lush greenery surrounded by the trees. I tried tasting the balti dishes and to listen the stories about history of Turtuk village. It was an another major highlight of my journey.
Chumathang Hot Springs:
To keep aside my tiredness, I tried out the Chumathang Hot spring that lies in the Ladakh's cold environment. It was the best moment of relief, as it is located in the Indus River and are rich of medicinal Properties. When I took an dip in the warm water, I felt refreshing and rejuvenating. This hot spring got my tiredness away from myself and I felt super relaxed.
Basgo Monastery and Fort:
After some rest, I visited the Basgo Monastery and Fort, situated in the Leh kargil route. I could feel the mesmerizing resilience of power, it stands tall with its beautiful murals ancient statue that I loved the most during exploring it. The fort was truly stunning and gave me the old tradition vibes all time.
Tso Moriri Lake:
My last Highlight was the Tso Moriri Lake it was an ideal gateway nearby the bustling Pangong Areas. This place was nice to meet the tranquility offering me the peaceful experience surrounded by pristine nature.
Visiting these offbeat places in ladakh gave me the introduction to its region's untouched side. The beauty of ladakh is not just a lie, but it's an emotion and a beautiful trip that can make your journey more memorable than ever.
Important Tips :
Best Time to Visit:
If you're looking for an ideal time to visit Ladakh, then it is May to September, as during these months the weather will be pleasent, roads are free and you can visit more areas easily. But if you want to enjoy the winter season then you must visit it In October to February as during these months it completely brings different experience with the frozen Pangong Lake.
Permits:
Some places in ladakh needs Inner Line Permits for Tourists, like Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake. These are easily accessible in Leh and Online. You must carry these permits and a valid ID at all the times in ladakh.
The Last Moment:
Finally the time had came that I have to leave Ladakh. Ladakh has left an incredible mark on my heart due to its famous landscapes, culture traditions, and warm hospitality. The highlights of my trip was the Pangong Lake, The thrill of Khardung La, the beauty of Nubra Valley these all are the experiences that I'll cherish forever.
