World Tourism Day: 27 September



World Tourism Day, celebrated annually on September 27th, is a day dedicated to recognizing the impact of tourism on the world. This special day, initiated by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), aims to promote awareness about the importance of tourism, its social, cultural, political, and economic values, and how it contributes to sustainable development.

Since 1980, 27th September,we all celebrate the world tourism day together.Tourism day is initiated by the UNWTO, United Nations World Tourism Organization. It aims to provide the awareness about the cultural, political  economic values and the importance of tourism. It also contributes something to sustainable development.

Importance of Tourism Day:

The word 'tourism' is attracted from a word 'tour' which means journey. This term is used to signify the the pleasure dates of the tour.It is established in 1980 by the UNWTO so that they can mark their anniversary of adoption statutes on 27th September,1980. This date got fixed to celebrate tourism day because it coincides the end of high tourist season and the start of seasons in northern and southern hemisphere respectively. Every year, There is a new theme given for the world tourism day, that highlights the aspects of tourism.

Why Tourism Matters

Tourism is much more than visiting new places and enjoying exotic destinations. It has a far-reaching impact that touches various sectors of society. Here's why tourism plays such a vital role:

Tourism is not just about the journey, it's about the enjoyment, joy and the fun we had. Some ways why tourism playes an vital role : cultural exchange, Economic growth, environment conservation community empowerment, global life, sustainability and more.


Celebrating the World Tourism day across the world:

Tourism day is celebrated among the whole world. In the aspect of tourism day, government organised some host events such as: cultural festival, public awareness campaign, countries highlighting the points and more.

World Tourism Day is celebrated across the world and it connects people across the continents to become a group. Tourism is not just about seeing new places but exploring the places, getting new informations, preserving them and more. If we start to explore the world, then we'll get to know about the nature, the peoples across the world and many things.
